From Monday to Friday in Media Culture, Eva Roque gives you her TV tips for the evening.

This Thursday, she offers us three programs to spend the evening under the sign of the western.

"Morvan, for a few more Douglas" at 10:55 pm on France 3, "Appaloosa" on France 3 also at 9:05 pm and "Die Hard 4: retour en enfer" at 9:05 pm on M6.

What is the theme of the selected programs?

They can be summed up in one sentence: life is a western!

With proof of the documentary of France 3 entitled "Morvan, for some Douglas more".

The Douglas is a species of pine growing quickly, established in the forest of Morvan.

The site has undergone clear cuts in several places in order to free up space for these trees to supply industrial wood production.

As a result, the soils have become more and more acidic, and biodiversity is declining.

An ecological disaster against which the inhabitants of the region like Lulu are struggling.

Western in the Morvan therefore with on one side the bad industrialists and on the other the ecological activists determined to make things happen.

And they do it as you will discover in this documentary.

Life is a western also in "Appaloosa", title of the film of Ed Harris in which he granted himself the main role.

By his side Viggo Mortensen.

Both are acting sheriffs, responsible for bringing peace to this village, but the two men, with a frank friendship, have the trigger easy.

A film removed with tasty dialogues to discover on France 3.

Modern life is also a western.

Ask John McClane, played by Bruce Willis.

"Die Hard 4", which lands on M6.

And again, the hero easily draws his weapon.

What to frighten the young computer scientist whom he came to gently arrest when everything degenerated.

Mainstream cinema with lots and lots and lots of action.
