SERIELAND ENTRETIEN - "En Therapy", the first series of the duo of directors Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache is available on January 28 on Arte.tv.

Adapted from an Israeli fiction, it immerses us in the intimacy of the sessions of a Parisian psychoanalyst in the aftermath of the November 2015 attacks. Eva Roque receives the director Eric Toledano and the screenwriter Vincent Poymiro on this occasion.

How can viewers be thrilled with episodes shot in a shrink's office?

And how do you go about adapting an already internationally famous series?

Since 2011, and the film

Intouchables

with Omar Sy and François Cluzet, the inseparable Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache have had a series of successes.

The strength of their duo?

Make us go from laughter to tears in an instant.

In

their first series, available on Arte.tv, they once again succeed in touching us, turning us upside down and making us reflect on our society.

For this fiction, Eric Toledano, Olivier Nakache and screenwriter and writing director Vincent Poymiro worked from the screenplay of

BeTipul

, a critically acclaimed Israeli series, created in 2005 by Hagaï Levi and already adapted 19 times.

They chose to transpose the plot in the aftermath of the November 2015 attacks in Paris.

The series takes place in a bourgeois apartment in the 11th arrondissement, not far from the Bataclan.

This is where Doctor Dayan (played by Frédéric Pierrot), psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, receives his patients.

A couple in crisis (Pio Marmai and Clémence Poesy), a fragile teenager (Céleste Brunnquell), a surgeon (Mélanie Thierry) and an agent of the BRI, the search and intervention brigade of the judicial police, played by Reda Kateb , parade in his office.

For his part, Philippe Dayan resumes after twelve years of stopping his own therapy with Esther, his psychiatrist (Carole Bouquet).

How to adapt a fiction which has known international success?

How were the actors directed?

And how do you make an intimate story part of a collective story?
