Schkopau (dpa / sa) - A 61-year-old was seriously injured in a collision between a tractor and a freight train in Schkopau (Saalekreis).
The man probably wanted to cross the tracks with the tractor on Wednesday morning, the police said.
In the collision, the tractor tipped on its side and the locomotive and some wagons derailed.
The 53-year-old train driver suffered minor injuries.
Both men were taken to the hospital.
According to the police, the more precise circumstances of the accident are still to be investigated.
