Taiwan continues to restrict the entry of more than 4,000 non-Taiwanese nationals to overseas freshmen

China Taiwan Net, January 27, according to Taiwan’s "United Daily News", the Taiwan Epidemic Command Center announced last year that it will temporarily postpone the entry of non-Taiwanese nationals from New Year's Day this year, and a one-month observation period will be used.

Taiwan’s educational affairs authorities later announced that foreign students would enter the country by project, but the commander of the Taiwan Epidemic Center Chen Shizhong announced on the 26th that they would continue to close their entry. Some universities pointed out that they had not received the project entry documents from the Taiwan Educational Affairs Department so far, worrying about the next semester. It is estimated that more than 4,000 foreign freshmen may not be able to enter Taiwan.

Pan Wenzhong, the head of the Taiwan Educational Affairs Department, pointed out on the 13th that the competent department met a few days ago to decide that foreign students should submit a negative nucleic acid test report, and to develop relevant quarantine enhancement procedures. It is about to be reported to the epidemic prevention command center so that foreign students can follow the school. Rules apply.

According to reports, the command center has not been finalized yet.

The universities on the island start school in mid-February. According to statistics, it is estimated that the number of incoming freshmen is about 4,489.

Nowadays, some universities have stated that they have not yet received the relevant approvals, worrying that overseas students may not have access to the project.
