At 7 pm on Wednesday evening, it hit the Rescue Service in Halmstad.

- We have had six traffic accidents in a short time.

It is terribly slippery, says Thomas Andersson, internal commander of the rescue service in Halmstad.

He continues:

- It is both slippery and chaotic in traffic.

Several class 1 warnings

And the chaos is expected to continue throughout the night.

SMHI class 1 warns of snow in Halland, Skåne and the western parts of Småland.

Later in the night and tomorrow, the snowstorm is expected to continue, with new class 1 warnings, in Blekinge, the eastern parts of Småland, Östergötland and Södermanland.

- Most of the time it is 5-10 centimeters of snow below.

But when we come in tomorrow, it is the eastern parts that are affected and there may be a little more, says Malin Boman, meteorologist on duty at SMHI.

Mostly in Stockholm

At most, it is expected to come over Stockholm County, where it can locally be as much as 20 centimeters during Thursday afternoon and the night before Friday.

- But it is still an uncertain path at low pressure so the quantities are a little uncertain, says Malin Boman.

Once the snow chaos is over, however, the snow can be happy news for all winter athletes.

The snow is expected to remain over southern Sweden at least all of next week, according to SMHI.
