Their custody was extended this Wednesday.
Seven people were arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday in connection with a violent attack in the Château district in Rezé, near Nantes, last December.
A 52-year-old man had been severely beaten while trying to recover his son's motorbike, which had been stolen a few days earlier in Bouguenais.
With a physical handicap, he had received several punches and kicks, as well as a stone in the face, until he lost consciousness.
A friend who accompanied him had also been hit, in particular on the head.
The scene was filmed and broadcast on social media.
Aged between 14 and 21
Samples were then taken from the famous motorcycle, which the investigators had recovered.
One of the attackers, who also appeared on the CCTV footage, was thus identified, along with other men in his entourage.
The majority arrested in Rezé, the suspects are between 14 and 21 years old, police said.
One of them reported having been injured by the father, who was apparently equipped with a machete at the time of the incident.
