A stealthy heist.

This Tuesday, a team of robbers robbed a jewelry store in Paris with axes for damage estimated at nearly 500,000 euros, we learned on Wednesday from a source close to the investigation, confirming information from LCI.

"They blocked the front door with a scooter and three men smashed the windows with axes to take the jewelry," said the source.

An investigation entrusted to the BRB

The facts took place in the center of the capital around 6 p.m., at the time of the curfew imposed by the health crisis, and the source was not aware of any injuries among the managers or any customers present.

The booty, initially estimated at 200,000 euros, was reassessed at "nearly 500,000 euros" according to the close source.

The investigation was entrusted to the brigade for the repression of banditry (BRB) of the Paris judicial police.
