- Our problem area right now is the vaccination of people who have home care.

The idea was that they themselves would book their time at vaccination clinics.

But it does not work as well as we had imagined.

Many of the people have difficulty arranging their times themselves, says the vaccine coordinator in Västmanland, Jonas Ekström.

The region is looking at possible solutions

The region is now considering various solutions to the problem.

Among other things, they are looking at the possibility that the home care staff will have a vaccination period sent home to them.

- Some municipalities can also offer people with home care to get their syringes at home, but not all municipalities have that opportunity, says Jonas Ekström.

All elderly people in special housing have received a dose of one

When it comes to vaccination in general, he is fairly satisfied with the progress, although delayed vaccine deliveries play a part in the planning.

- We have had time to vaccinate all county residents in special housing now and some have already received their second dose.

We still hope to be able to start vaccinating the general public in April.

But considering the delivery delays, the vaccination will probably take longer than we would have liked, says Jonas Ekström.
