Erfurt (dpa / th) - The seven-day incidence, which is considered important for political decisions, has fallen again in Thuringia and remains below the critical value of 200. With around 184 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, the country was according to figures from Wednesday nevertheless at the top in a nationwide comparison.

Within one day, 670 new corona cases were added.

For weeks, Thuringia was the state with the most massive infection rates.

In between it had given up this negative top position to Saxony-Anhalt.

The seven-day incidence in Thuringia has been below 200 since Tuesday. This value is considered a critical threshold.

The state government's goal is to come below a value of 50.

Only then should schools resume normal operations, as Education Minister Helmut Holter made clear in the past few days.

With a value of consistently and permanently below 200, however, he could already imagine changing lessons as an intermediate step.
