Potsdam (dpa / bb) - After strong criticism from the state parents' council and the co-governing CDU, the half-year reports for the Brandenburg students should be sent by post on the last day of school before the holidays on Friday.

This was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education on Wednesday upon request.

The RBB reported first.

First of all, the certificates for all distance learning students should only be sent on February 8, the first day of school after the holidays.

The ministry announced this on Monday.

Only the final classes as well as the pupils of the special needs schools who learn in face-to-face classes should receive the certificates in their schools.

In addition, only the certificates for the sixth graders in elementary schools who needed them for the transition to a secondary school should be sent on Friday.

The education policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group, Gordon Hoffmann, said that despite the challenges posed by the corona pandemic, it must be possible to send the certificates before the holidays.

The State Parents' Council had complained that there had long been a great deal of uncertainty about the award of the certificates.
