The Fiat Tipo, the second best-selling model by the Italian brand in our country after the 500, opens in 2021 with a restyling that rounds off the compact range.

Among the different versions offered (4-door, 5-door and Station Wagon) a fourth stands out: the Type Cross, a crossover with an excellent value for money.

The new Type Cross is now wider, thanks to the design of the grille, which extends under the headlights.

It's undoubtedly taller too, as it has risen by almost 4cm, due to a renewed suspension calibration and a new wheel and tire solution.

Fiat has included larger wheels, as it did with other models in the range such as the 500X, which gives the crossover a more robust appearance.

Without a doubt, the Type Cross offers habitability and comfort, with a dynamic and youthful design.

By having a greater height, the driving position is higher, offering a series of very interesting advantages: it is now easier to get in and out of the car, visibility at the wheel is better and it is easier to place children in the rear seats or access the trunk, which offers 440 liters, a very prominent figure within its segment.

The body of the Type Cross receives the roof rack bars, which until now only had the Station Wagon version.

This element allows it to be 7 cm taller than the conventional model.

The crossover completes its "off-road design" with the molding of the wheel arches and guards throughout the body, which give the vehicle a more robust and muscular appearance.

A more digital and connected interior

A new, fully configurable 18cm (7 ") digital display appears on the Type Cross instrument panel, which replaces the conventional analog panel. In it, it is possible to view aspects of the status of the vehicle, the multimedia system or even the telephone This is combined with the other screen that reigns supreme in the center console: the new Uconnect5 system on a 26cm (10.25 ") touch screen.

With a comfortable and simple interface, this system can be connected with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wirelessly, with customizable profiles and the option to store up to five different settings.

Complete standard equipment at an excellent price

The Type Cross can be equipped with three engines.

In the diesel section, with the 1.6 MultiJet of 70kw (95 CV) or 95kw (130 CV) of power, and in the gasoline offer with the 1.0 GSE T3 of 74kw (100 CV. This last engine is part of the family of Fiat FireFly Turbo engines, which have improved their characteristics offering better performance, with lower consumption and emissions. In addition, the Italian brand has worked on calibrating the gearbox to ensure better responsiveness in the city and greater comfort in highway.

In terms of model finishes, the crossover has two options: City Cross and Cross, priced at 15,290 and 16,550 euros, respectively, with promotions included.

An amount that places it as one of the best value-for-money options on the market.

If we opt for City Cross, we will have LED front and rear lights, cruise control, 41cm (16 ") wheels, multifunction steering wheel, fatigue detector, tire pressure sensor, Lane Assist assistant or daytime running lights, as standard. Many others. On the other hand, Cross, situated at the top of the range, includes 43cm (17 ") alloy wheels, full LED headlights with automatic control, adaptive cruise control or front and rear parking sensor, among a long list of equipment .
