Gera (dpa / th) - The President of the Gera Administrative Court is expecting numerous lawsuits this year in connection with the loss of earnings of employees and economic losses of companies.

The reason is the corona pandemic.

"There is huge social explosive in there," said Michael Obhues on Wednesday in Gera.

Section 56 of the Infection Protection Act, which regulates the question of compensation, is extremely complex.

He expects numerous legal questions to be answered for the first time.

Obhues also pointed out that there are already lawsuits against the State Administration Office, in which the authority is accused of inaction in connection with claims for compensation.

The corona pandemic had already had a strong impact on what happened at the administrative court last year.

There were 42 proceedings in this connection.

The subject of the dispute was provisions from the general directives of municipalities and districts, such as the mask requirement or quarantine orders.

However, most of the proceedings were unsuccessful or withdrawn by the plaintiffs.
