Joe Biden wants to place the fight against global warming at the heart of his national and international policy.

On January 27, he signed 3 decrees aimed at attacking what he qualifies as an “existential threat”.

In particular, he decreed a moratorium on oil drilling on federal lands, encouraged by his predecessor.

He also ordered his administration to remove federal subsidies to the fossil fuel industry and to invest in the green economy.

It maintains its goal of achieving carbon neutrality in energy production by 2035.

As in the face of Covid-19, we desperately need a united national response to the climate crisis,

because there is indeed a climate crisis, insists Joe Biden.

We can't wait any longer.

The American president wants to stand out from his predecessor, he wants to rely on science.

And he is working to calm the worries of the working class: “

You know, we can put millions of Americans to work by modernizing our water distribution system, transportation, our energy infrastructure.

When I think of climate change and its responses, I think of jobs.

Building modern, resilient infrastructure and a future with clean energy will create millions of well-paying jobs.

 "

Joe Biden also intends to unite other countries in this fight against global warming: “

We must guide the global response.

Because no challenge can be met by the United States alone.

We know what to do, we just have to do it.

The president announced the holding of a climate summit for April 22, the fifth anniversary of the Paris Agreement, which the United States has just returned to.
