US Senate approves Blinken as Secretary of State

In November, US President Joe Biden announced his intention to nominate Blinken for the post of Secretary of State.

Blinken later called Turkey's acquisition of Russian S-400s unacceptable, and also said that the United States would seek an extension of the START Treaty.
