Dusseldorf (AP) - The Hamburg resident continued his streak of success in the goalless top game of the 2nd Bundesliga and successfully defended the table lead even after the 18th matchday.

The Hanseatic League came on Tuesday evening at Fortuna Dusseldorf to a 0-0 without major highlights and after eight games without defeat with 37 points remain the first contenders for promotion to the Bundesliga.

The Düsseldorf team, who have now been undefeated for nine games, missed the leap to a promotion position, but remain without a home defeat in the season.

Even in a formation that had changed for the first time in four games, HSV took command from the start, with Josha Vagnoman missing with a torn ligament in his ankle and Bakery Jatta sitting on the bench, putting the Düsseldorf team under pressure again and again from outside positions.

But the guests did not develop any real goal danger.

Fortuna coach Uwe Rösler had to change his team to three positions, relied on a robust defensive midfield and also left goal scorer Rouwen Hennings on the bench for the time being.

The strong home team from Düsseldorf looked for their chance with long balls forward, but had no penetration in the attack with Kenan Karaman and Dawid Kownacki.

Only a header from Kevin Danso was the prey of HSV keeper Sven Ulreich (45th + 1).

In the tactical game, the guests had more of the game, but striker Simon Terodde was signed off from Fortuna's central defense and was unable to show himself off.

So both teams had to be satisfied with the draw, although the Düsseldorf team still failed to win against a top team.
