“He called President Putin this afternoon with the intention to discuss our desire to extend START III for five years, and also to reaffirm our strong support for Ukraine's sovereignty in the face of ongoing Russian aggression,” RIA Novosti Psaki quotes.

Earlier, the Kremlin reported that Putin and Biden had a telephone conversation, including discussing bilateral relations.

During the conversation, the presidents, as noted, expressed satisfaction with the fact that Russia and the United States exchanged notes on reaching an agreement to extend the START Treaty.
