The man has passed away due to illness, reports P4 Jämtland, which was the first to tell about the death.

- Yes, he has died and it came quickly, says Jan-Åke Nyström, the Peab man's lawyer, to SVT Jämtland.

The man was in good mental and physical vigor, says Nyström to Östersunds Posten and he adds:

- We looked forward to the trial and an acquittal.

Sentenced to prison

The 53-year-old man who in the media has come to be known as the "Peab man" was sentenced in 2019 for involvement in the Kindberg scandal.

He was sentenced to two years in prison for gross infidelity to the principal.

At the same time, Daniel Kindberg, former chairman of ÖFK and former CEO of Östersundshem, was sentenced to three years in prison for gross infidelity against the principal.

A third man, "Sollefteåföretagaren", received 2.5 years in prison for aiding and abetting gross infidelity against the principal.

All three were also sentenced to pay Östersundshem approximately 13 million in damages together.

Court of Appeal hearings this autumn

The judges were appealed by all three convicts.

The Court of Appeal hearings are intended to be held this autumn and they are expected to take 18 days, when audio recordings have failed in the district court.

How the legal process is affected by the fact that one of the convicts who appealed, has now died, is currently unclear.

This is stated by chamber prosecutor Niklas Jeppsson for P4 Jämtland.
