China News Service, January 26. According to Korean media reports, on the 26th, the Seoul High Court conducted the first public trial of appeal (second instance) against South Korea’s "House N" chief culprit Zhao Zhubin.

Attorney Zhao Zhubin stated that the 40-year sentence was “excessive” and he advocated re-examination.

The prosecution pointed out that even after being released after a long-term sentence, the principal is unlikely to be corrected. In the first instance, Zhao Zhubin was sentenced to life imprisonment.

At the same time, Lawyer Zhao Zhubin also denied the suspicion of organizing a criminal group found guilty in the first instance and advocated "partial innocence."

The prosecution stated that "the doctor's house organization is a criminal organization that has never been in South Korea's history." Even after being released after a long-term sentence, the possibility of correction is very small.

The prosecution had asked Zhao Zhubin to be sentenced to life imprisonment in the first instance.

According to reports, Zhao Zhubin’s next public trial will be held on March 9.

The "Room N" incident refers to a series of cyber crimes in South Korea.

According to media exposure, some people set up private paid chat groups on the instant messaging platform Telegram to share indecent photos of women, involving rape, serious insults to women, etc., with unsightly images and extremely cruel methods, including minors.

The incident caused an uproar.

"Room N" is operated by multiple people, of which the person who is nicknamed "Doctor" and whose real name is Zhao Zhubin is the most concerned.

Starting in 2019, Zhao Zhubin uploaded a large number of photos of suspected sex crimes in the "Doctor's Room" and blackmailed the victims.

On November 26, 2020, the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea made a first-instance verdict on the "Room N" case, sentenced the principal culprit Zhao Zhubin to 40 years in prison, and classified the "Room N" criminal gang as a criminal group.

Later Zhao Zhubin and the prosecution appealed.

The prosecutor also filed additional prosecutions for concealing criminal proceeds.
