Osnabrück (dpa / lni) - VfL Osnabrück has continued its negative run in the 2nd Bundesliga after the sixth home defeat in a row.

Against SpVgg Greuther Fürth, Lower Saxony lost 1-0 (0-1) on Tuesday evening and after their sixth defeat from the last seven second division matches are now eleventh with 22 points.

Julian Green scored for the aspirants in the 38th minute.

Although the team of coach Marco Grote improved compared to the 0: 1 against Erzgebirge Aue, before the break there was more than one good attempt by Sebastian Kerk on the offensive (16).

On the other side, the people of Fürth took the first chance to lead.

Fürth's Dickson Abiama put back at the six-yard box to Green, who was able to score the 0: 1 with a shot into the far corner (38th).

Shortly before the break, VfL should have been 2-0 down: Green first hit the post, Abiama then shot over the Osnabrück goal.

Even after the break, VfL struggled.

The North Germans did not manage to put the guests under pressure.

On the contrary: the Fürth attacks were more dangerous.

A brilliant shot from Abiama hit the crossbar (71.).

In the final phase, the Grote-Elf did not have any more chances, so the renewed home defeat was certain.
