Pandemic: The health sector demolishes Salvador Illa's managerial image and reminds him of all the mistakes made

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has appointed Carolina Darias as the new Minister of Health to replace Salvador Illa.
Darias leaves the post of Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Function and his position will be filled by the first secretary of the PSC, Miquel Iceta.
Sánchez has communicated this afternoon to the King the changes in the Executive and later he has announced them in an appearance at La Moncloa.
Both will be sworn in tomorrow at La Zarzuela.
Illa's nomination as the candidate of the Catalan Socialists to the Generalitat in the February 14 elections has caused this movement, which the president wanted to limit to an "adjustment", but which represents an important change for the affected areas.
Darias assumes Health in full escalation of infections by coronavirus, in a third deadly wave, and Iceta, as a Catalan quota of the Government, the territorial interlocution.
Two relevant appointments in a legislature marked precisely by the issues that fall within its areas: the health crisis and the proposal for a negotiating table with the Catalan independentists.
It is the first change in the Executive of this legislature, which began in January of last year after the coalition pact with United We Can.
The fight against the pandemic has forced the Government's political priorities to change, but Pedro Sánchez's plan is to relaunch his program once the vaccination process is completed and
Covid-19 is remitted
.
The weight of Iceta will from now on be very important in the Government, both because of the Catalan agenda - pending the result of the regional elections of 14-F - and because of the commitment to address this legislature with new regional financing.
