Aue (dpa / lby) - The Würzburger Kickers received another low blow in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga at the start of the second half of the season.

The Lower Franconia lost on Tuesday evening completely unnecessarily with 1: 2 (0: 0) at FC Erzgebirge Aue.

After the well-deserved opening goal by attacker Ridge Munsy (52nd minute), Florian Krüger (78th) turned the game around in favor of Saxony after a counterattack and Florian Ballas (85th) with a long-range shot.

With only nine points, the Kickers remain behind the table after the 18th matchday.

After his red card in Paderborn, the suspended head coach Bernhard Trares saw a good performance of his team as a spectator in the stands for a long time.

This was instructed by assistant trainer Benjamin Sachs on the sidelines.

The 31-year-old Munsy scored against his ex-club after a fine individual action from an acute angle.

Munsy should have scored before the break, but shot into the arms of goalkeeper Martin Männel (39th).

The otherwise agile David Kopacz missed the big chance to make it 2-0 when he failed free-standing by the good Auer goalkeeper Männel (62nd).

That should take revenge.

After their own free kick, the Würzburg team naively countered at 1-1.

Central defender Ballas met seven minutes later on a pass from the always dangerous Krüger untenable for Kickers goalkeeper Hendrik Bonmann from 18 meters.

In this Friday's home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf, kickers Hendrik Hansen and Kopacz will be missing, who each saw the fifth yellow card.
