Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - In Saarland there was a hacker attack on the state's own Bildungscloud online school Saarland (OSS).

The attack on Tuesday morning was successfully repulsed by security systems, said the Saarland Ministry of Education on Tuesday.

The attackers tried to paralyze the education cloud with massive amounts of login requests.

The OSS could therefore not be reached from outside for a good 20 minutes in the morning, it said.

The previously registered users could continue to work with the OSS during the time.

Only new registrations were not possible.

The ministry turned on the state criminal investigation office.

An attack on the OSS had already been successfully repelled in April 2020.

As a learning platform, the OSS is the most important instrument for digital teaching and learning at home in Saarland.

Thousands of students and teachers are registered.
