January 26, 2021 The Lombardy Region unanimously approved a motion in which it "censors" the work of the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, and "asks the government for damages following the incorrect classification of Lombardy in the red zone".



For the group leaders of the majority in the Regional Council who presented the motion, "the errors and lies of the executive have damaged millions of Lombards. On the establishment of the red zone - they say - let clarity be made about responsibilities".



The document, signed by all the center-right group leaders, was voted on at the end of a day in which the Council session was suspended several times due to the protests of the opposition that ended up leaving the proceedings of the Chamber in protest for the failure by the Region to disseminate "disaggregated data on the pandemic in Lombardy and due to the difficulty of accessing the documents".



"The order of the Ministry of Health which confined our region in the red zone - said the group leaders - caused enormous damage to millions of Lombards on the basis of a sensational error of assessment. President Fontana immediately contested this classification and the commissioner Moratti asked for 48 hours for a confrontation with the technicians; this request was ignored by Minister Speranza. Only after the Lombardy Region appealed to the TAR did the executive retrace his steps, disavowing his own ordinance through a shameful blame game, in an absurd attempt to attribute responsibility for their mistakes to the Region ".



"This government - continues the note released today - with its errors and lies, has brought millions of Lombard citizens to their knees. Today we want to censor Minister Speranza for the damage he has caused to the population, damage that the Government will have to repay until to the last penny quickly. Finally - concludes the note - to bring out the truth about this unpleasant story, we ask for a technical table between the Government and the regions to make objective and transparent the evaluation criteria with which the degrees of pandemic risk are defined , and the consequent positioning of the regions in the various risk classes ".



Iss in Fontana: from May 54 errors from Lombardy

Since last May "the ISS has sent 54 reports of errors, incompleteness and / or inconsistencies to the Lombardy Region, the last on 7 January".
