January 26, 2021 Lombardy, according to the document published by the Higher Institute of Health in which the technicians respond to the accusations of the governor Attilio Fontana, has corrected the data: it has not simply updated them.

And it wouldn't be the first time.

The ISS reports that it has sent "since May 2020, 54 reports of errors, incompleteness and / or inconsistencies to the Lombardy Region, the last of which on 7 January 2021".

The percentage of cases incomplete for the symptomatology (absence of information in the 'clinical status' field) that would have affected the calculation of the RT "is equal - write from the ISS - to 50.3% compared to 2.5% of the rest of Italy in the period 13 December 2020 - 13 January 2021 ".

Precisely by virtue of this incompleteness and a transmission index that is too high compared to the other parameters, the Welfare management of the Pirellone, according to the Institute's technicians, has adjusted some parameters.

The ISS reports the time and date: "The last entries by the Lombardy Region date back to 10.58 and 14.51 on 20 January 2021 with an adjustment of the previous data present on 13 January 2021".

The Region would have eliminated "the reporting of a given onset of symptoms in 4,875 reported cases";

those previously classified as symptomatic decreased "by 17,654 cases" and those classified as asymptomatic by 12,779 cases increased ".

This inaccuracy would have occurred previously.

According to the ISS, from May 2020 to January 20, "Lombardy reported a large number of cases, significantly higher than that observed in other regions, with a symptom onset date to which it did not associate a clinical state".

However, this meant that these subjects continued to be considered, at least initially, "as symptomatic".

And, therefore, influenced the RT (which, as explained several times, is calculated only on the symptomatic).

Furthermore, the ISS specifies that in the last period the Region "has classified a large number of these cases as cured without a reported clinical symptomatic state".

This error was reported.

Starting from 29 May, the Lombardy Region received the 'Quality and completeness data report' on a weekly basis.

Report in which "an anomaly was reported relating to the presence of a large number of incongruent cases, in which a given onset of symptoms was reported but were declared in the clinical state as asymptomatic or with the presence of only one cure or death".
