The agency quoted a number of witnesses that they heard a loud boom twice, and saw a small column of smoke in the sky of the city before one o'clock in the afternoon local time (10 am GMT).

The Saudi forces announced the destruction of a "hostile air target" over Riyadh on Saturday.

It was not clear who carried out the attack, and the Kingdom did not accuse any party in its brief statement, while the Houthis confirmed that they had no connection with what happened.

The website of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh reported a delay in the arrival of many flights on Saturday.

It is noteworthy that the Houthi group has carried out many cross-border attacks in Saudi Arabia using march and missiles since the intervention of a military coalition led by the Kingdom in Yemen in early 2015 to restore the government that the Houthis overthrew.

Activists widely condemned the targeting of Riyadh again, calling for cooperation to repel "terrorism" and put an end to these practices.

Activists circulated many videos, today, Tuesday noon, showing the interception of a missile in the sky of the Saudi capital, considering that this is a very violation of the kingdom's right.

Kuwaiti academic Abdullah Al-Shayji said, "The tampering and aggression of Iran's arms with its proxy war by armed militias against Saudi Arabia and targeting Saudi cities - on the authority of Iran - must be stopped," adding that "within 5 days of the start of (Joe) Biden's presidency - messages were sent from Iraq and Yemen whose timing is known. Its significance, its messengers and their goals!

For his part, Abdul-Wahhab Al-Qahtani, former deputy editor-in-chief of Al-Jazirah newspaper, Saudi Arabia, said: “Despite widespread international condemnations, it is very clear that Iran and the Houthi are currently under severe psychological and financial pressure, and therefore their canned cardboard attacks have increased on the Arab capital, Riyadh, and they must realize that Saudi Arabia It achieves its carefully drawn goals, thank God.
