Krefeld (dpa / lnw) - A woman was found dead in an apartment fire in Krefeld.
Residents of the apartment building had noticed a burning smell and an activated smoke detector on Monday evening, as the fire department announced.
They notified the emergency services who put out the fire in the ground floor apartment and found the dead resident.
The cause of death of the woman and the cause of the fire were initially unclear.
Except for the apartment on the ground floor, the house is still habitable according to the information.
