Kempten (AP) - After a fatal knife attack in a bus in Obergünzburg (Ostallgäu district), a murder trial at the Kempten district court starts today, Tuesday.

The accused is accused of stabbing his wife, who was then separated, with a kitchen knife several times in July 2020 and thus killing her (Az. 210 Js 12078/20).

Several students had witnessed the attack on the bus.

According to the prosecution, revenge was the motive for the act.

The man with Afghan citizenship was therefore prohibited in February 2020 from making contact with his wife.

He had previously beaten her and threatened to stab her with a knife.

As a result, the 38-year-old was bothered by the fact that he could no longer fulfill the role of head of the family.

According to the court, a judgment is expected in mid-February.

If convicted, the man faces a life sentence.
