Hans Stoops is a mountain bike cyclist and project manager at Cykelfrämjandet.

He lives in Stockholm and has a holiday home outside Trosa, right next to the Sörmlandsleden.

He has followed the debate regarding whether or not cyclists are on the Sörmlandsleden and thinks it is wrong to stop a whole group of outdoor practitioners in the way that the management of the Sörmlandsleden wants.

- I think that everyone who engages in outdoor activities should be able to use the trail, says Hans Stoops.

"We are happy to help with maintenance"

In the near future, a meeting between Cykelfrämjandet and Sörmlandsleden is planned.

The hope is to find ways forward.

- We cyclists would like to try to help the Sörmlandsleden to maintain the trail, says Hans Stoops.

How do you view the agreements that the Sörmlandsleden has with various landowners along the trail?

- We would like to have a dialogue with Sörmlandsleden and the landowners to offer solutions.

If it does not withstand the traffic we see today, you may have to find new routes for the trail and we are happy to help with that, says Hans Stoops.

In the video above, Hans Stoops talks about how he views the Sörmlandsleden's appeal to cyclists.
