Since the start of the epidemic, 74,106 people have died from Covid-19 in France, according to the latest report published Tuesday by the health authorities.

In 24 hours, more than 22,000 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded.

The pressure on hospitals continues to increase in France.

After crossing the 3,000 mark on Monday, the number of patients hospitalized in intensive care units due to Covid-19 continued to grow on Tuesday.

According to data from Public Health France, 3,081 people are thus in its services, or 40 more in 24 hours.

French hospitals are welcoming 27,041 patients with Covid-19 on Tuesday, compared to 26,924 on Monday.

Over the past 24 hours, 117 additional people have therefore been hospitalized because of the disease.

The circulation of the virus still at a high level

Public Health France announced 612 more deaths on Monday, bringing the total number of deaths caused by the epidemic to 74,106.

But the number of additional deaths includes, like every Tuesday and Friday, the deaths that occurred in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments over the last few days.

In addition, more than 22,000 people have tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours (22,086).

Faced with these figures which are not falling and the presence on French territory of variants, British and South African in particular, much more contagious, the hypothesis of a third confinement is raised.
