Schwerin (dpa / mv) - In the Corona crisis, the judiciary in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania made a leap in digitization.

Since this week, video conference technology has been available to every court, every public prosecutor's office, the state office for outpatient criminal work and in three prisons, the Ministry of Justice announced in Schwerin on Tuesday.

This would enable interrogations to be carried out online.

The courts could connect parties involved in proceedings via video conference and conduct negotiations online.

"Coping with the corona pandemic gave digitization a boost," said Justice Minister Katy Hoffmeister (CDU).
