Despite the outbreak of the Corona pandemic last year, this did not prevent the makers of the Ramadan drama from completing the filming and showing the series on time, and only a few were affected by the works expected at that time, the most famous of which were two series of the producer company "IC Media", which decided the last moment to save the situation and present them in two parts , Content with showing what was filmed before Corona in Ramadan 2020, and completing the rest later

The first was the Lebanese series "The Sculpt" starring Basil Khayat, Amal Bouchoucha, Nada Abu Farhat and Elie Mitri, and it showed 15 episodes. It is an unconventional plot that combined excitement and suspense, which helped it achieve high viewing rates.

As for the second, it is the Syrian series "The Magician", whose starring was attributed to Abed Fahd and Stephanie Saliba, and it produced 17 episodes that won the admiration of viewers as well.

Indefinite delay

With the announcement of the Ramadan 2021 series, the audience was surprised by the silence of the producing company and the lack of disclosure of the fate of the remaining parts. When Syrian director Amer Fahd, the maker of the series "The Magician," was asked, he stated that "the idea of completing the work exists and there is an intention for the producing company, but it is difficult to portray (the magician) At the present time, the situation does not allow it, and therefore it is almost impossible to display it in the Ramadan 2021 season.

Although this general situation may seem to some similar in terms of filming conditions and anxiety, the truth of the matter is completely different, because last year before the spread of the virus, many scenes of Ramadan series were already filmed, in addition to the rate of infection spreading at its beginning, especially as this was accompanied by With the semi-compulsory home quarantine, and most of the work, including education, has been turned into a household.

As for this year, the whole world is witnessing greater prevalence rates, whether in the number of injuries or deaths, which expanded to include some workers in the technical field itself.

Among the deceased, the Egyptian actors Rajaa Al-Jeddawi and Hadi Al-Jiyar lost art, as well as the Syrian actor Tony Moussa, the hero of the series "Children of the Hara", and others.

This was accompanied by large numbers of infections for the stars of the Ramadan drama with the virus, especially after the activities of the "El Gouna" Film Festival, and among the injured: Yusra, Aser Yassin, Amir Karara, Basma, Iman Al-Asi and Muhammad Al-Sharnoubi, which in turn led to the disruption of the filming of the dramas in which they participate stars.

And because the matter came out of the circle of what happens to others only, and with varying degrees of injury and some failing to resist, anxiety increased among many, while some countries returned to practicing closure to protect their citizens, which consequently resulted in the exit of some artists from the Ramadan race this year.

Get out of the shadows

Ten days ago, the series "Shadow" began to be filmed in Beirut for its showing in Ramadan 2021, which is a social drama in the context of a teaser, scenario and dialogue by Zuhair Rami Al-Mulla and directed by Muhammad Khayari, starring Basil Khayyat, Youssef Al Khal and Ghassan Massoud, and its plot revolves around a man. His life is full of secrets and adventures, and he decides to use that in order to manipulate the lives of those around him.

However, the closure of the country resulting from the doubling of the number of Corona patients, prompted the production company, Media Revolution 7, to announce a temporary halt in filming at the beginning, before it was forced to stop it completely and cancel the sales contracts for the Arab stations agreed with it, believing that the near loss is little Better than a heavy loss too late.

This brought Basil Khayat back to square zero again. On the one hand, the series "shadow" was postponed to a later time, and on the other hand, the fate of the second part of the series "Al-Nahat" is still unknown, which made Basil return to Dubai to practice his family life with his family.

Withdrawal from drama

Actress Yasmine Sabry is among the actors who announced their withdrawal from the 2021 drama, as she told local newspapers that she had taken the decision to exit the Ramadan race after she searched for a long time among the projects that she submitted to find suitable work to return to her audience through, and her failure to find something suitable in hope. To return to her followers in Ramadan 2022, although that will not prevent her from trying to find a suitable movie to present this year.

It is noteworthy that the last thing presented by Yasmine Sabry was the series "A Second Chance" in which she fought her second absolute tournament, Ramadan 2020, and although the work achieved high viewing rates, but that was only because the audience was keen to watch him mock him daily on social media platforms.

Family comes first

As for the Tunisian actor Zafer El Abidine, he declared his unwillingness to run for the Ramadan 2021 race despite the large number of artistic projects and scenarios that were presented to him, which he attributed to his desire to spend enough and intimate time with his family after being busy with them for a long time recently, due to his retreat to filming the second season of The series "Bride of Beirut", which is currently showing, is on the top of the list of highest-watched on the "watch VIP" platform.

The work is based on the successful Turkish drama "The Bride of Istanbul", and the first season was shown at the end of 2019 and achieved tremendous success, and co-stars Takla Shimon, Carmen Basibas, Joe Trad, Faris Yaghi, Jad Abu Ali and Fadi Ibrahim, and the composition is Nadine Jaber and Bilal Shehadhat.
