Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The Future Commission on Sport (ZKS) of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg recommends sports institutions, clubs and associations to introduce a binding quota for women in management positions.

The commission advocates a quota of at least 30 percent women in the relevant bodies of Hamburg sport.

A working group was set up to develop implementation measures.

"This is the first step on the way to the desired full equality of the sexes," announced the ZKS on Tuesday.

“We need women in management positions because they lead differently and contribute differently.

I was never a fan of a quota, but had to realize, especially in my professional environment, that little changes 'without pressure' ”, said ZKS Chairman Michael Beckereit.

The Future Commission on Sport was formed in 2011 by the Senator for Home Affairs and Sport.

It includes management members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Sport, the Hamburger Sportbund, the Olympic base Hamburg-Schleswig / Holstein and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
