Cologne (dpa / lnw) - Two men fought in the fast lane of Autobahn 1 near Cologne and then had to hand over their driving licenses and cars to the police.

The two 34- and 45-year-olds initially overtook each other with their vehicles near the Leverkusen motorway junction.

According to the police on Tuesday, the younger man braked his opponent in the fast lane to a standstill around 6 a.m.

Then he got out, threatened the older man with a wrench and fought him.

The 34-year-old was slightly injured.

A car driver (27) recognized the danger spot in the left lane in good time in the onset of rush hour traffic and slowed down.

But a 48-year-old drove his car.

His vehicle had to be towed damaged.

According to the police, no other person was injured by accident.
