- This is our challenge now, we must get growth, and then a few things are required: good core businesses, better and faster public transport to the cities and attractive housing - people want that, says Lena Lovén Rohlen (S), municipal councilor in Skinnskatteberg.

Can speed up construction

The municipality has today looked at a dozen areas that may be relevant to build on or lease others to build on, two areas are closer in time.

But more generous beach protection legislation would make construction easier and faster and those we spoke to in Skinnskatteberg believe it would benefit development in the area.

Dare to bet

- I think it would increase the attractiveness a lot and make those who dare to invest in buying houses will dare to invest more as I think it is thought that houses with beachfront locations will perform better as investments, which I think would speed up construction and the renovation here as well, says Erica Benzler, living in Skinnskatteberg.
