  • The Toulouse public prosecutor's office has just opened a judicial investigation targeting four Toulouse personalities.

  • They are suspected of having tried to harm Corinne Vignon, now LREM MP, during the 2017 legislative campaign by suggesting that she could derive undeclared income from her passion for astrology.

  • The people targeted by the investigation are a former prosecutor, a former regional tax manager, the Toulouse sports assistant and a business manager.

Corinne Vignon, the LREM member of the 3rd district of Toulouse, was she the victim of a "pact" hatched in high places aimed at blocking her route to the Palais Bourbon during the legislative campaign of 2017?

This is what the Toulouse prosecutor's office seeks to determine.

"I opened a judicial investigation on January 18 targeting four people, suspected of having initiated a process aimed at discrediting [his] candidacy," Dominique Alzéari, the public prosecutor of Toulouse, told AFP on Tuesday.

From a source close to the investigation, the four people in question are the former deputy director of public finances of the Occitanie region, a former deputy prosecutor, a business manager in real estate and Laurence Arribagé, deputy mayor in charge. des Sports, also patron of the Republicans in Haute-Garonne.

The latter was at the time member of the constituency and therefore the main rival of Corinne Vignon.

Horoscopes on the eve of the 1st round

The first part of this case erupted a few days before the first round.

When the Toulouse public prosecutor's office decided to open an investigation for "hidden work" about Corinne Vignon's activities as an astrologer.

The candidate, who has never hidden her passion for numerology and astrology, was suspected of having established astral charts for remuneration without declaring them.

The amount being derisory and the investigators of the financial brigade not having detected anything abnormal in the lifestyle of Corinne Vignon, the preliminary investigation was closed without follow-up in September 2017. And, in the meantime, the controversy, crisp, did not prevent the mayor of Flourens from becoming a Member of Parliament.

"Illegal taking of interest"

But, with the rebound of this Tuesday, we have to believe that it will continue to shake up the political landerneau of Toulouse.

According to AFP still, the prosecution requested the indictment of the four accused for "illegal taking of interest, complicity and concealment on the same count".

In his introductory indictment, he also mentions the counts of corruption and violation of professional secrecy for the tax official, for having denounced, without informing his superiors and without prior investigation, of facts likely to prejudice the candidate Corinne Vignon .

Laurence Arribagé, whose Facebook page mentions that she was placed in isolation because she is in contact, could not be reached by

20 Minutes

this Tuesday morning.

It is now up to an examining magistrate to read the bottom of the cards and shed light on this funny politico-judicial affair.
