While the European Medicines Agency's urgent use of the AstraZeneca Corona 19 vaccine is imminent, reports that the vaccine is insignificant in the elderly over 65 years old, AstraZeneca countered it head-on.

According to Reuters, AFP news agency, AstraZeneca issued a statement on the 25th local time and dismissed the report as being false.

In a statement, the company claimed, "according to the data we published in the lancet last November, the elderly showed a strong immune response from vaccination, and after the second vaccination, the generation of antibodies in the elderly reached 100%."

He added that the UK Joint Commission on Vaccination and Immunization has approved its use in older people.

Earlier, some German media reported citing sources that AstraZeneca's vaccine is expected to be only 8% effective in the elderly over the age of 65, and that German health authorities will not approve its use in the elderly.
