January 26, 2021 Torture, kidnapping and trespassing.
These are the accusations that the chief prosecutor of Agrigento Luigi Patronaggio and the substitute Gianluca Caputo have formalized against three young people of 26, 23 and 36 years who according to the investigators beat and kidnapped the disabled in their homes or even on the street in Licata in the province of Agrigento.
Raids against the physically and mentally disabled who were filmed and then posted online with ferocious comments on the conditions of the victims.
For the three of them this morning the detention was triggered for serious indications of a crime carried out by the Carabinieri.
Three episodes reconstructed by the investigators.
In one of these, an invalid would have been brutally beaten with a stick, tied with duct tape and abandoned on the street until a passing woman released him and called for help.
In another, they would be humiliated with face paint and a substance that caused hair loss.
Or, again, tied to a chair with a bucket on your head and beaten.
Kicks, punches, sticks and death threats.
All this is always filmed with smartphones and spread online, on social media with mocking titles.
For three Licatesi the detention was triggered.
To report the torture was one of the victims who had the strength to tell the nightmare passed into the hands of the gang.
For the investigators, the three arrested, who will be validated by tomorrow, may not be the only members of the gang.
