The hotel industry is one of the sectors most affected by the
health crisis
.
The latter has put the AccorInvest group in great financial difficulty.
“
The hotels are empty today or almost empty.
So you have AccorInvest which owns the walls of many hotels in France and elsewhere which today is in great financial difficulty.
That's thousands of jobs.
That's
7,000 jobs in France.
So, we will effectively grant a loan guaranteed by the State to AccorInvest of half a billion euros, ”
announced Bruno Le Maire.
It remains to be seen whether AccorInvest will implement its social plan announced in mid-January.
It provides for nearly 1,900 job cuts in Europe, including around 770 in France.
An unacceptable plan for Gilles d'Arondel, secretary general of FO Accor: “
This state guarantee is a guarantee, all the same, which is made with our taxes, with public money.
So, we ask that, when there is public money, there will be zero job losses and that if there is job loss, it does not mean forced departures ”.
Due to the pandemic, the group's turnover fell by 70% compared to 2019.
