He was 21 years old.

On Sunday, Ronan Chedaleux was swept away by an avalanche while he was practicing ski touring at the Rossanaz pass in Aillon-le-Vieux (Savoie).

Her 19-year-old brother was saved thanks to the emergency services.

The two brothers are from Renac, in Ille-et-Vilaine.

They were well known in Brittany, especially in the world of cyclo-cross and mountain biking.

Ronan Chedaleux had been a member of the Cube team, which his brother Matéo had to integrate, specifies the French MTB Supporters site which revealed the identity of the victim.

The weekend had been particularly murderous in the massifs of the Alps.

Sunday, a 23-year-old skier was killed in an avalanche in the Grandes Rousses massif, in the town of La Grave (Hautes-Alpes).

On the same day, a 31-year-old ski instructor was taken to Les Arcs 2000.

A snowpack "of rare instability"

According to France 3 Rhône-Alpes, the mountain made a new victim on Tuesday.

A 56-year-old man was killed in an avalanche in the Grandes Rousses massif.

It was a friend of the victim, witness to the scene, who alerted the emergency services.

This weekend, alerts were issued due to "rare instability" of the snowpack.
