Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, 417 new corona infections were reported within one day.

The number of infected people was 8,650 on Monday afternoon, as announced by the Ministry of Social Affairs in Magdeburg.

The seven-day incidence therefore reached a value of 215.28 and was therefore only slightly above the 213.78 reported the previous day.

That was the lowest number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants and seven days in the past two weeks.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, Saxony-Anhalt was still the worst nationwide in terms of infection rates at midnight.

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, 58 new deaths related to the corona virus were known from Sunday to Monday.

The total since the beginning of the pandemic has increased to 1520.

According to the ministry, the Burgenlandkreis had by far the highest incidence in the country on Monday with an incidence of 460.73.

The RKI listed the district as the one with the highest incidence nationwide.

Meanwhile, 184 intensive care and ventilation beds are occupied with Covid 19 patients in Saxony-Anhalt, 108 people are artificially ventilated.

In Saxony-Anhalt, 49 019 corona cases have been recorded since the beginning of the pandemic and 4,346 sick people have been treated in hospitals.
