China News Service, Xi'an, January 25 (Reporter Alena) The 2021 Xi'an Jiaotong University Silk Road International Winter Camp officially opened on the 25th.
The theme of this winter camp is "Viewing the past and the present from the cloud, innovation to move the future". More than 300 international students from 48 countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Hungary, and Pakistan gathered in the cloud to witness the global opening of this international winter camp. .

Xi Guang, vice president of Xi’an Jiaotong University, introduced that Xi’an Jiaotong University has organized five consecutive Silk Road Alliance summer camps since 2015. This year’s winter camp has come as scheduled in a brand new online way, not only attracting people from Silk Road University. The students of the alliance colleges and universities, more international students from Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China and many other well-known universities at home and abroad signed up.
The winter camp will continue the spirit of the Silk Road as always, and provide campers from all over the world with a learning channel and a good platform to understand Chinese history, culture and cutting-edge science and technology.
Kyle Jooste, an international student representative from Xi’an Jiaotong University from South Africa, shared his study and life at Xi’an Jiaotong University, saying that the strong international atmosphere and first-class academic environment of Jiaotong University will definitely provide rich course content for this winter camp; Silk Road from Malaysia Mindy Tan Jia Yee, the freshman representative of the International Winter Camp, hopes to learn more about the rich historical and cultural charm of Xi'an from this winter camp.
The two students hope to make more international friends and develop deeper communication through the winter camp.
It is understood that in the next 7 days, campers will learn about history and humanities with Xi’an characteristics online, listen to popular science lectures in the field of advanced science and technology, and fully experience the spirit of the Silk Road. The international winter camp is a cultural spread and knowledge mutual benefit. The platform contributes to promoting cultural and technological exchanges between China and foreign countries and enhancing mutual trust and understanding among countries along the Silk Road.
