UN Secretary General says worst economic crisis in a century

“More than 2 million people have died, and we are in the worst economic crisis in about a hundred years,” said the UN Secretary General.

At the same time, according to him, in 2021 there is an opportunity to "move from fragility to resilience" if the situation with the pandemic improves and joins forces.

Earlier, the head of the UN headquarters in Geneva, Tatiana Valovaya, warned that after the pandemic, the world will change.

In December, the UN predicted the worst humanitarian crisis in 75 years in 2021.

The organization's secretary general, Antonio Guterres, in turn, said that conflict, climate change and the coronavirus have created the greatest humanitarian challenge since World War II.
