A violent road accident claimed the lives of two people on Saturday evening in Lannilis, north of Brest (Finistère).

While riding a motorbike, a 39-year-old man and his 25-year-old passenger were violently struck by an oncoming car.

According to

Ouest-France

, the 30-year-old motorist driving the vehicle was intoxicated.

"A high rate", according to the Brest prosecutor's office.

The passenger, a 31-year-old man who is said to be the owner of the BMW brand car, was also drunk.

The latter has already been convicted of traffic offenses.

According to witnesses, the shock was very violent.

The passenger was ejected and found in the field bordering the departmental 28 leading to Lesneven.

The first elements of the investigation suggest that it is the car that has shifted to the left lane.

The two men were taken into custody on Saturday evening.
