The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement on the evening of the 24th, stating that Tunisian Foreign Minister Osman Gerandi posted on Twitter, confirming that he himself tested positive for the new crown virus and had severe symptoms.

  Gerlandi said in a tweet: "Despite taking all necessary precautions and complying with relevant health regulations, the test results confirmed that I was infected with COVID-19 and the symptoms were serious. I pray for God to protect everyone."

  Gerandi said this made him more convinced that the Tunisian people need to be protected from the pandemic by providing vaccines.

  According to statistics from the Tunisian Ministry of Health, there are currently 2,165 cases of new coronary pneumonia infection in Tunisia, including 418 severely ill patients.

So far, the total number of confirmed cases is 816,128 and 6,234 deaths.
