Three people are on trial from Monday before the Assize Court of Finistère in Quimper for the murder of a baker.

The facts took place on August 23, 2018 in the town of Plonévez-du-Faou near Quimper.

As she left for work shortly after midnight, the 45-year-old victim was shot twice in the head on the threshold of her house, reports

His 25-year-old partner was also seriously injured by gunfire.

Three months after the tragedy, three people were arrested and indicted.

Among them, the baker's wife, with whom he no longer lived, and his new companion.

On a background of jealousy, the latter would have gone to the home of the baker with his partner who would have shot the two victims in exchange for a sum of money.

The three defendants face life imprisonment

The suspected shooter will be tried for the assassination of the baker and the attempted assassination of his companion.

The baker's former wife and her lover appear for their part for complicity in the murder.

The trial is to take place all week.
