Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The new corona measures come into effect on Monday in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

This includes, for example, a stricter mask requirement.

So-called medical masks are then necessary in local transport and in shops, such as surgical masks, FFP2 masks or KN95 masks.

According to the State Chancellery, anyone who still wears a fabric mask should not have to pay a fine in the coming week.

In regions with more than 150 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, parents can only bring their children to daycare centers or school for emergency care, provided they are in the 1st to 6th grade.

For the final classes, i.e. grades 10 and 12, face-to-face teaching should be possible nationwide.

Although the seven-day incidence of corona infections in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district is just below 150, stronger protective measures will also apply there from Monday.

After two so-called transition days, they will also come into force in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district on Wednesday.

They are already in force in the Mecklenburg Lake District.

In the other districts as well as in Schwerin and Rostock, daycare centers and schools up to grade 6 remain open to all children.

However, parents are urgently asked everywhere to look after their children at home if possible.
