Dresden (dpa / sn) - Saxony's Greens parliamentary group leader Franziska Schubert has clearly criticized the state government's corona management - and expressly included her party.

It was “no shame to say clearly” that “moderately great” decisions had also been made, wrote Schubert in a guest article for the “Sächsische Zeitung” (Tuesday).

Some decisions are not even legally secure, such as the 15-kilometer rule.

According to Schubert, there were misjudgments among the Greens after the first Corona wave.

The dramatic situation in the crematoria was also underestimated.

"Self-criticism of politics is an expression of contemporary sovereignty," emphasized the 38-year-old and campaigned for a new style of politics.

It is not a good way to convey to the population the feeling that the government has done everything right: "In my opinion, this is a wrong and outdated political style - especially at a time when we have to make decisions with great uncertainty."

According to Schubert, Saxon politics now needs the “courage to reflect on what has been learned and to correct oneself”.

She also advocated greater parliamentary involvement.

The hour of the executive must finally be followed by the hour of the legislature.

A new political style also includes communication on an equal footing with the citizens.

The Greens have been part of the Saxon state government since December 2019.

Together with the CDU and SPD, they govern in a "Kenya coalition".

As the leader of the parliamentary group, Schubert takes part in the weekly cabinet meeting.
