Gelsenkirchen (AP) - Bundesliga soccer club FC Schalke 04 has committed another winter access to right-back William.

The 25-year-old Brazilian will move on loan from league rivals VfL Wolfsburg to the bottom of the table until the end of the season.

Both clubs announced this on Monday.

The traditional club from Gelsenkirchen, which is financially and athletically hard hit, had previously brought back the former Schalke Sead Kolasinac from Arsenal FC and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Ajax Amsterdam.

"We are very happy that we were able to strengthen ourselves in all prioritized positions - left and right-backs as well as strikers - despite a tight budget," said Schalke sports director Jochen Schneider.

William came to Wolfsburg from Porto Alegre in the summer of 2017 and has since played 83 competitive games for Lower Saxony.

In 2016, William won Olympic gold with Brazil.
