China News Service, Seoul, January 25th (Reporter Zeng Nai) Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Li Zayong announced on the 25th that he would not appeal.

  Lee Jae-yong was once suspended for being involved in the incident involving the then-President Park Geun-hye’s “confidential involvement in politics”, but in 2019 the South Korean Supreme Court requested a retrial of the case.

On January 18 this year, the Seoul High Court issued a retrial sentence on Lee Jae-yong's bribery case and sentenced him to two years and six months in prison.

Li was arrested in court in Rong.

According to the public statement of Lawyer Li Zayong and respecting the court ruling, Li Zayong decided not to appeal the judgment of the retrial.

The prosecution had requested that Li Zairong be sentenced to 9 years in prison.

  Lee Jae-yong was born in June 1968 and is the only son of Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kin-hee.

Since Li Jianxi fell ill and was admitted to the hospital in 2014, Li Jayong became the actual controller of the group.

Li Jianxi passed away in October 2020.
