Pea's mother Inga-Gun died during the first corona outbreak on Lammengatan in May last year, while his father Kurt survived even though he was 98 years old.

But in November he died anyway, not of covid-19 but Pea thinks it was a combination of old age and the lack of his wife for 60 years.

Pea is careful not to criticize the staff.

- On the whole, they have been very nice and kind to my parents.

Believes that tests should have been done more continuously

However, he is critical of the fact that they were not tested to any great extent.

- When I talked to them, they said that if the staff has symptoms, they must not come here, then we take tests.

But you should test them continuously, regardless of whether you have symptoms or not - because it takes a few days before the symptoms come, says Pea.

But in that case it should apply to all nursing homes, can you understand that it is very difficult to have that capacity?

- Yes, but it can not stop doing it.

Then you have to fix that capacity.

For us to achieve what everyone has been talking about, to protect the elderly, it is a necessity.

The head of care in Växjö municipality, Ewa Ekman, believes that the testing on Lammengatan and other accommodation in the municipality has been carried out in accordance with the infection tracking routines recommended by the infection control doctor.

Not everyone who died had covid-19

According to her, it is difficult to explain why Lammengatan was hit by a larger number of deaths both during the autumn and spring compared with previous years.

- Everyone who has passed away on Lammengatan has not had covid so there is reason to think that the reasons are many, she says to SVT Nyheter Småland.

But just considering that Lammengatan has been so affected, you should not have checked what it is due to?

- Of course, we constantly look at quality pieces, doctor participation and if we have done everything we can for those who are we are for.

And so far my assessment is that we have done everything we can, she says to SVT Nyheter Småland.

But Pea Sopo believes that it should be possible to find explanations why there is such a big difference between different homes.

And he addresses a call to those responsible:

- Make sure that you track infections properly so that this does not happen again.
